Resetting Windows Media DRM in Windows 2000/XP
Running Windows Vista? Click here for instructions| If you're receiving any Digital Rights Management (DRM) error messages when attempting to play a PPM movie, you'll need to reset your Windows Media DRM component by following the steps below. |
Click on Start and then click on My Computer.  Go to the Tools menu and select Folder Options.  Click on the View tab and then select Show hidden files and folders under the Advanced settings section.  Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) check box under the Advanced settings section. A Warning dialog will appear confirming this change, select Yes.  Double check and make sure Show hidden files and folders is selected and Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) is unchecked. Click on the OK button to save the changes and close the Folder Options dialog.  Open the Local Disk (C:) drive by double-clicking on it.  Open the Documents and Settings folder by double-clicking on it.  Open the All Users folder by double-clicking on it.  Right-click on the DRM folder and select Rename.  Type in DRMBackup and press Enter to save the changes.
